Ubuntu Trust was created to change that reality

As a refugee-led organization, Ubuntu Trust understands firsthand the challenges that vulnerable communities face. Our programs are designed not only to provide services, but to restore dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Across many communities, families face barriers to financial services, affordable goods, and opportunities to grow small businesses. These challenges often keep hardworking people trapped in cycles of poverty.

By strengthening local businesses, supporting savings groups, and providing access to essential financial services, Ubuntu Trust helps communities move toward self-reliance and shared prosperity.

We believe that sustainable development begins when communities are empowered to shape their own future.

Our sustainable solutions help people determine their own destiny.

A Message from the Founder

Ubuntu Trust was born from a simple but powerful belief: communities have the strength and potential to build their own future when they are given the opportunity.

Having experienced displacement and life in refugee settlements, I understand the challenges that many families face when humanitarian support alone is not enough to meet basic needs. Across many refugee communities, people are hardworking, resilient, and determined to build better lives, yet they often lack access to financial services, business opportunities, and investment.

Ubuntu Trust was created to respond to this challenge by expanding access to finance, supporting small businesses, and building the skills communities need to achieve economic independence.

Guided by the philosophy of Ubuntu — “I am because we are”, we believe that lasting development happens when communities work together and support one another.

Our vision is to see refugee and host communities move beyond survival toward dignity, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

I invite you to join us in building pathways to a more inclusive and hopeful future.
